It has notes of chocolate, black cherry, and lime and drinks like a mellow jazz record on a weekend morning.

This micro-lot was grown in the highlands of the Sabanilla de Alajuela region of Costa Rica’s Central Valley on a third generation coffee farm that has been cultivated since 1779. The coffee is processed in the Las Lajas mill, using the Red Honey process with 100% mucilage left on and dried on raised screen beds. This is an elegant coffee, with a sweet, silky body and mild acidity. Its tone is lush and heavy with notes of dark chocolate but balanced with a sweet strawberry vibrancy and a hint of lemon zest.
Ethiopia – Yirgacheffe$19.50 – $105.00
This micro-lot is grown by Bedhatu Jibicho in the Gedeb district. The crop is naturally processed and dried on raised beds and processed by the Banko Gotiti Cooperative which was estabilished in 2013 to help area farmers improve quality and reach larger market. Bedhatu’s farm has been chosen by the cooperative as a model to other farmers for sustainable, high quality methods of farming, harvesting, and handling. She was raised in Worka, and has been working in coffee since the 1960’s when the government gave the land to her husband, and she has been managing the land herself for over 50 years. In recent years her children have begun working more and more with her on the farm.
